The wear challenge
Concrete mixer drums and paddles face continuous gouging from aggregate and cement paste. Hardox liner surfaces resist the scouring that wears through conventional plate in weeks of batching.
Mixing combines abrasive aggregate with paste that scours drum walls and paddle faces. SSAB specifies Hardox 500 Tuf for concrete mixers and pump pipe where structural strength and wear resistance must coexist in one plate.
